Week 6

Web 2.0
Back to my blog after absence of some time due to other things happening, read two of the articles on the future for libraries and community involvement. This is connecting to the communities through technology, but could be a balance act between technology and human interaction, not only sitting at a PC sending messages/information to colleagues or members of the library service, which this info may be superfulous to the person receiving it, making what libraries are about relevant to a changing society and not just information for the sake of information , whatever that maybe.

Into a new world of librarianship, this articles discusses the role of librarians in the future and the different approaches to the profession.

Have used Big Hugh Labs to frame an image that I have taken from the internet. Looked at some other image generators. Don't know whether I would use this in my work or not, the images I found fairly basic, graphic and illustrative; could be useful but I prefer something more original.

Hi

Flickr is great and I could see it being used as a community exchange, or for Local History photos. It all came together for me when I received through my Genielist the details of a two day trip to Ballarat by the Local History Interest Group and therefore the sharing of information through text and photos was relevant.
